Legal Aid to host open houses in celebration of 70 Anniversary
Community Legal Aid is opening its doors to the public in celebration of 70 years of service to the community. The nonprofit law firm will host a series of open houses at its staffed offices in Akron, Canton, Youngstown, and Warren during the month of October.
Steven McGarrity, executive director, shared that the firm is looking forward to the opportunity to gather with friends after a two-year hiatus from in-person celebrations.
“Our connections within the community are an integral part of who we are and how we provide our services,” McGarrity shared, adding that the open houses will provide an opportunity to celebrate and deepen those relationships.
The firm’s Youngstown open house will also serve as a grand opening of its location in the Ohio One Building. Legal Aid officially moved into the office in November of 2019 but was unable to host a grand opening celebration due to the pandemic.
Community members are welcome to stop by anytime between 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. to meet with the Legal Aid team, celebrate pro bono volunteers, and find out what’s in store for the firm’s future.
Guests will also get a peek at Legal Aid’s new look. The firm underwent rebranding earlier this year.
McGarrity shared his enthusiasm for the new look. “It’s fresh, hopeful, and embodies our ongoing commitment to justice and to the community we serve,” he stated.
Refreshments will be provided and reservations are requested. For more information visit www.communitylegalaid.org/openhouse.
