Spriggs to lead HelpLine
Stark County native promoted to new leadership role
Local attorney Dawn Spriggs has been tapped to be a supervising attorney for Community Legal Aid’s HelpLine team. In this newly created role, Spriggs will head the HelpLine, Legal Aid’s call-in phone service that helps potential clients apply for legal services.
“I’m thrilled to have Dawn stepping up into this new role,” Executive Director Steven McGarrity said. “Her years of experience working on complex legal cases plus her leadership skills bring a fresh perspective to what is essentially our main outreach service to clients.”
Spriggs, who has been with the non-profit law firm since 2005, has experience in a variety of legal matters, including housing, re-entry, estate planning, and probate. She has presented on topics including fair housing, mobile home law, re-entry, and general legal rights, all of which impact low-income residents in central northeast Ohio.
“I’m excited for this next step,” she said. “I’m looking forward to working with Steven and the rest of the staff to continue being client focused and innovative in our approach, so that we can provide the best and most seamless application process possible for our clients.”
A Stark County native, Spriggs is highly involved in her community. She currently serves as Board Chair of the YWCA of Canton and is a member of the Stark County Homeless Services Collaborative, the Wayne County Housing Coalition, the Wayne County Re-entry Coalition, and the Stark County Re-entry Coalition.
